Jolt Radio has been operating for the past 7 years, showcasing music and artist interviews along with events around Miami.
Saturday, September 30th marked Jolt Radio 7th anniversary and was celebrated at Gramps bar in Wynwood.
Commemorating the online radio station, Gramps hosted the 12 hour event presenting a variety of musical acts, hands-on workshops covering synthesizers, a Caja China pig roast, fashion vendors, and plenty more. More people began to show as it got later into the evening.
Inside Shirley’s (Gramps’ backside venue), I caught a very intimate set by folk duo Dracula. As a fan of classic folk, I was immediately drawn in. They preformed their own, haunting interpretation of “Como La Flor” by the late Selena. Without distraction, they battled the pounding bass from the outside and serenaded us whole-heartedly. It was something beautifully unexpected and I hope to have the pleasure of seeing them perform again.
A successful night for Jolt and looking forward to more events in the future.
